HowTo fetch one object from JSON responses?


After you have seen this HowTo video and read this article you will know how single objects are fetched from JSON responses.

Step 01
Go to Tools on the builder menu left and click on 'Webservices'.

Step 02
Create a new web service.

Step 03
Define all settings as Name, Protocol, Host (API), Authentication, Request and Response types.

Step 04
Create a new endpoint to the web service.

Step 05
Define all endpoint settings as Name, Http method, Path, and its Custom Model.

Step 06
If you would like a variable path id, then create a new path variable in the endpoint and insert the variable to the path.

Step 07
Save the new endpoint.

Step 08
Press Run Test to test the API host and the endpoint.

Step 09
Insert a random path variable.

Step 10
Now the response is visible. Generate a Custom Model of the response.

Step 11
Rename the created custom model.

Step 12
Go to Actions on the builder menu left.

Step 13
Create a new action to process the response to your data model.

Step 14
Create a new Http request action event.

Step 15
Select the right web service and endpoint to complete the request.

Step 16
Insert the path variable from the variable browser.

Step 17
Give the requested object a variable name 'As'.

Step 18
In this case we fetched one object. Below the http event you can directly insert a 'create' event.

Step 19
Select the right model and assign all the model properties to the custom model attributes.

Step 20
Press Edit and run the action manually to test it.

Step 21
Check the back office if the assignment is successfully done.
