Computable nomineert tien CEO’s in ICT

The original article is in Dutch. For our international readers, we have published the translation below.

Chris Obdam is a CEO with a very clear vision. Obdams’ story (and that of his companies) has clear similarities with the stories of Silicon Valley CEO’s. Except this time, Obdam is the origin. Obdam is responsible for three successful organizations. One of which is Betty Blocks. This organisation puts down double digit growth numbers and is about to compete with software-giants like Microsoft, Salesforce, Mendix en Outsystems. For the general jury of Computable Awards 2017 reason enough to nominate Betty Blocks’ Chris Obdam as CEO of the year.

Obdam started an internet company together with his brother, at his parents’ attic. His vision has led to a very innovative product, allowing you to develop software from the cloud. The name for the application-platform is Betty Blocks. The goal of the platform is software development for everyone. Without technical terms which create a distance. Just developing in a visual manner with pre-programmed ‘blocks’.

Obdam has been blessed with a healthy dose of common sense. The non-conformity towards the mainstream and wanting to create a distinctive identity and challenging the status quo in IT-land is what he stands for. Betty Blocks is a fast growing organization employing people with an enormous drive and passion for the product. The innovative software company has been built from the village of Obdam (with five thousand inhabitants), into a company with 100 employees. All without investors, Betty Blocks is entirely self-financed. It is also recognized internationally by Gartner.
