Friday, February 3rd was Betty Blocks On Stage at Tobacco Amsterdam. The annual event of the Dutch company Betty Blocks, with their application development platform (RAD) of the same name. Several customers and partners such as KPMG, the Cities of Amsterdam & Zaanstad en QNH were present to let their light shine upon rapid application development (RAD), and the possibilities the Betty Blocks platform offers. To top it all off, Chris Obdam - CEO at Betty Blocks - announced that Betty Blocks is expanding its territory to four new countries.

Internationalization
The biggest announcement during the roadmap presentation was the official expanding in four new countries. Belgium, The United Kingdom, Germany and the USA are officially added to the portfolio.

Growth in numbers
The keynote from Chris Obdam was the kickoff of the presentations. A review of 2016 shows that there are 5000 apps created, the organization has doubled, the number of customers has grown 150 percent and the revenue has increased by 110 percent.

Chris Obdam, CEO at Betty Blocks looks back on a successful day. “With over 250 registrants including names like KPMG and the cities of Amsterdam & Zaanstad, people show their confidence in Betty Blocks and the future."

Marco Groeneveld, Owner / Director at Groeneveld Management Services, agrees with Obdam. “Thanks for hosting the perfect event today and good to see Betty Blocks continues her growth in 2017."

Arnoud Huijgen - Senior Information Advisor at the City of Hoorn adds: “A compliment for the On Stage session today. Well organized, it showed an informal professionality. Plenty of room to network too.”

Growth through partners
Projects are outsourced via specialized Betty Blocks partners so Betty Blocks can fully focus on platform development. With 7 new partners, of which 5 were represented on the day of the Betty Blocks On Stage event, there is an abundance of expertise present. Partner QNH Consulting gave a presentation about the collaboration between Betty Blocks and QNH, and the possibilities this offers for both parties.

Stop coding, start visual modeling
The Betty Blocks platform replaces complex programming language with the graphic representation of objects. Without coding, applications are developed up to 10 times faster than traditional programming. And, instead of starting with a prototype, you instantly develop applications. Because of visual modeling, the business is much more engaged and involved with the entire development cycle. This closes the gap between business and IT and creates a much better alignment with the business processes.
